Turn2us - Anita's story

In May 2007 I started working with Turn2us, a then embryonic charity based in London. Their aim is to help people to to access money and support that is available to them, through benefits, charitable grants and other avenues.
The Turn2us website supports people by providing a benefits checker, a database of grant-giving charities and a growing knowledge base of help and resources.
Anita's story encapsulates what Turn2us is about - "Someone's there helping me in my time of need":

I'm on ESA now for 2 years under sick for depression - i can not live the way im leaving im excisting not living i can not afford to pay edf electric cause last year i've been paying my bills to day until february 2009 was cold so i had to have heating on so that went sky high i suffer from brochitos depression and pain on my left leg so you can imjaine when it gets cold now i have a meter for gas and its eating me alive espcially these past 3months unable to pay my other bills i've gone in debt i can not afford to eat properly my neighbour helps me he invites me to eat and keep warm at his place till i go home at nite cause there is time i can not pay for the gas so no heating i;m so depressed i get paid every two weeks i;ve cried my self to sleep cause i want to end my life many times my doctors are aware of this thats why i am on sick for depression - i need help just to breath again i dont know who to turn to help me even if my debts are all paid at once i can pay back that one debt who help me iam willing to pay no questions about it ijust want my life back to feel free of debts i can not move on i have a dark cloud over me which is getting dark that scars me please i do need help badly i;ve help people a lot in life but i always feel im knock back when i can not help myself up i understand if you can not help but please tell me if there is anyone who can help me thank you
